Can't read data from USB

Anna Feb 12, 2015 03:15PM EST

Dear customer support team,

When I download data from our TA 200 machine, it saves as .DAT format on a usb stick. I tried to read that file on the compute with several programs, but no one enabled me to do so. Can you please advise me how to read those records?

Best regards,

The USB data from the Devices generally can not be read by any other program except for TCMSv2

The devices are designed to work in conjunction with the software.

These instructions will be a best method of getting your data from the device via USB:

1. Input the flash drive into the TA200+ 2. Press the Menu button on the device and click on the “Pen Drive” option 3.Select “Download” and click on “Download Att.log”, this will pull attendance data onto the USB flash drive

For the following steps you will need to open the TCMSv2 program on your computer:

1. In TCMS click on the “Devices” tab in the top-left of the program 2. Select the “USB Flash Disk Managment” option and press configure 3. From this window select the first option: “write data from USB” and press next 4. Now you can select which drive the USB is currently occupying (this can be checked from your my computer screen) 5. Once the correct drive is chosen click “From USB” , this will extract the att.log data. 6. Finally, save the data and now you can view the attendance tab and run reports.
