We have two time clock devices on a network. On 05/03/2018, we lost the entire data (clocking in/out) for half of the work day. Everyone has their hours until lunch time, but everyone is missing their time from coming back from lunch until the end of the day. Next day, no missing punches the days before, and no missing punches the days after. Of course, my first suspicion was that devices were off, but people would have complained. I thought having some kind of computer glitch, but after looking a the data, that does not seem to be the case. If there was a network disconnect, the data would have download once the communication is re-established. I find difficult to believe both devices failed in a synchronous manner.
My question is, is there a chance something like that can happen and if so, what would the circumstances be?
